Basil van Rooyen prepared his own Superformance Team Gunston Ford Capri Perana to beat the factory team to the 1972 Star Modified Saloon Car Championship. He wrapped up with another dominant display at the Kyalami Rand Spring Trophy races 50 years ago this week.
