1991 Germany GP. When the Liqui Moly stickers were attached to the Lotus F1 cars, no one really noticed that the oil-Company BP was already very present. BP…….Liqui Moly. Both are producers of engine oil as well as additives and lubricants for car engines…..and thus…..direct competitors! A call from Hamburg to the Lotus Box ( BP)…(someone was not very amused) on friday morning, led to the Liqui Moly stickers having to be removed from the cars immediately. Since both cars were only out on the track for a few laps at that time, this led to photos with the Liqui Moly stickers beeing among the real rarities among collectors.
